[Hymnbook] 1837-1884.

Manuscript volume was originally kept by Vail during the 1830s as a hymnal. During the 1870s and 1880s, it was used as a notebook, probably by Alonzo Giles Hollister. A rough copy of an essay, presumably written by Hollister, that was published in the Manifesto in 1883 or 1884, appears on 24 of the unnumbered pages. Two indexes are included, even though they do not necessarily refer to the contents of this volume.

157, [165] p. ; 10 x 17 cm.
